The Boys and Girls Club renovations from federal Community Project funding

State Senator Ryan Fattman (R-Sutton) announced that Congressman Jake Auchincloss (MA-4th) secured $850,000 in federal Community Project funding for the Blackstone Valley Boys and Girls Club located in Blackstone. This funding is part of the federal minibus appropriations package.
The Boys and Girls Club will use this funding to renovate the Stone House on their grounds for continued programming for students from the surrounding areas.
“I’m grateful that our partners on the federal level recognize the value that the Blackstone Valley Boys and Girls Club brings to our region,” said Senator Fattman. “This investment will allow the Club to continue their summer offerings to students in the Blackstone Valley which means more children getting to be children by playing outside and having fun.”
“In this era of screen-time and stress, kids need more places to be outside and to have fun,” said Congressman Auchincloss. “When I toured the Blackstone Boys & Girls Club and met the committed staff, I knew they just needed more resources to become an ideal venue for kids to play. Let’s keep working together to get this built.”
State Representative Michael Soter notes, “I am incredibly excited that the Blackstone Boys and Girls Club will have access to this funding. Programs like these are central to our communities, and to the development of our youth.”
The Blackstone Valley Boys and Girls Club adds, “We are thrilled to resurrect the Stone House renovation project that has been on hold for 20 years.”
This project will begin in the near future after next steps are provided by the funding source.
