Uxbridge Lions Honor Recycling Partners Plan Semi-Annual Shred Event

It is that time again when the Uxbridge Lions Club provides a much-needed service to the community. Folks discover after tax time that they have way too many old documents and receipts hanging around the house. What should you shred? Just about all of them.  Bring them to the VFW Parking Lot, Route 16 and Cross Road in Uxbridge, on Saturday, April 27, between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m. You can watch the Pellegrino Truck securely shred your material. Onsite Computers  guarantees the secure destruction of electronic devices, including phones, electrical cords, DVDs, cameras, USB cables, flat screen monitors, keyboards, radios and stereos.
Contributions to this semi-annual service help fund the Lions Club’s many charities. From the donation of $5 per copy paper sized box or per electronic item, many local activities and organizations are supported. In addition, tons of paper have been recycled over the many years of these shred events. No need to get out of the car. Just follow the signs and a Lion will be at your door.
At its March meeting, the Uxbridge Lions honored Don Danforth and Bev Fanion, owners of Onsite Computers with the Lions Humanitarian Award.  Danforth and Fanion were praised for the contribution of their services at the Recycle/Shred Events for the past several years donating the proceeds to the club. At a recent event, they donated a refurbished laptop which was raffled off. In addition, they have contributed to other local non-profit organizations such as the Boy Scouts. “We cannot say enough good things about Don and Bev. Their knowledge can be relied on to be accurate and efficient and their energy to make work less tedious,” says Mike Sulham, Uxbridge Lions President.
