Wilder Holbrook presentation

On Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. in the First Congregational Church, 307 Boston Road, the Sutton Historical Society will host Mark Savolis of the Thompson Connecticut Historical Society for a presentation about Sutton Civil War Veteran, Wilder Holbrook, and the Massachusetts 15th Regiment.  This free presentation is open to the general public of all ages.  Mr. Savolis has many historical items he will be displaying during the presentation.
In 1861, just shy of age 21, Wilder, a Sutton farmer, mustered into service with the 15th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry.  He was wounded in the shoulder at The Battle of Ball’s Bluff, Leesburg, Virginia.  Wilder was promoted several times serving in both the 15th Massachusetts and the 36th Massachusetts regiments.
