Grafton Field Hockey to host first Sticks, Strides & Community Pride 5K

The Grafton Youth Field Hockey program will host its first annual Sticks, Strides & Community Pride 5K on Nov. 21, bringing runners and walkers together for a morning of fitness, youth sports, and community giving.

The 5K will begin at 9 a.m. at the Grafton Municipal Center and is open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Grafton Field Hockey program and help offset the costs associated with providing local young athletes with opportunities to learn, play and grow through the sport.

While supporting Grafton’s field hockey players is a primary goal of the event, organizers also hope the 5K will benefit the broader community. Participants and community members are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations on race day to support the Grafton Food Bank.

The event is being organized by the volunteer-run Grafton Youth Field Hockey program, which hopes the inaugural race will become an annual community tradition.

Organizers are encouraging members of the community to participate in the 5K, whether by running, walking, or donating to the food drive.

Registration and additional information about the Sticks, Strides & Community Pride 5K can be found through the Grafton Youth Field Hockey program.
