As Uxbridge prepares to celebrate its 300th anniversary, residents are being invited to share the stories, legends, and local lore that have been passed down through generations.

The town is collecting tales for “Legends & Lanterns,” a special 300th Anniversary event scheduled for Oct. 24, 2026. Organizers are looking for everything from ghost stories and mysterious local legends to family tales and accounts of unusual happenings tied to the community.

Residents who know of a ghost story connected to an old Uxbridge building, a long-standing local mystery, or a family story that has been shared over the years are encouraged to submit their tales.

The stories will help highlight the history and character of Uxbridge while bringing some of the town’s more mysterious traditions to life as part of the 300th anniversary celebration.
