From the Publisher
Dear Readers and Valued Advertisers,
For many years, it has been our privilege to publish and deliver your hometown newspaper, connecting local businesses, organizations, and residents throughout the communities we proudly serve. We sincerely appreciate your loyalty and support.
Like many community newspapers across the country, we have experienced significant increases in postage, newsprint, and production costs, along with the impact of new tariffs. At the same time, we can no longer pass these increases along to our advertisers, which makes it increasingly difficult to sustain direct-mail delivery.
After careful consideration, we have decided to transition to a community-distribution (drop) model beginning with our September edition. While the way our newspapers are delivered is changing, our mission is not.
Our readership isn’t ending—it’s evolving.
Instead of arriving in your mailbox, our newspapers will be available at convenient community locations, including local businesses, restaurants, libraries, municipal buildings, and other high-traffic destinations. This makes it easy for readers to pick up a copy while they’re out in the community and helps keep our publication highly visible.
Community-distributed newspapers are intentionally picked up by readers who want to stay informed about local news, events, and businesses, creating an engaged audience and continued value for our advertisers.
Most importantly, this change allows us to continue to support local businesses, promote community events, and provide the trusted hometown publication you’ve come to expect.
This decision was made with one goal in mind: to ensure the long-term future of our newspaper and our commitment to the communities we proudly serve.
Thank you for your continued confidence in Our Town Publishing, publisher of the YankeeXpress Publications. We appreciate your support as we begin this next chapter and look forward to serving our communities for many years to come.
With sincere appreciation,
The Our Town Publishing Team
