Massachusetts State Police Trooper Mike Kane and his K-9 Branch joined the kick-off party for the summer reading program at the Oxford Free Public Library on June 17.
Members of the Oxford Police Department including newly appointed Chief Jeromy Grniet also joined the party. OPD is helping to encourage summer reading: every child who checks out a book during the program will be eligible for a chance to take a ride in an Oxford police cruiser and tour the department at a later date.
Branch wanted children to realize how the doors to your imagination are opened when you open the cover of a book.
If you could not make the party on the 17th but want to join the program, stop by the library. Staff are excited to show you how to register.
