Dudley residents enrolled in the town’s energy aggregate realize savings over a cold and energy demanding winter
The Dudley Community Choice Power Supply Program currently provides competitive power supply to approximately 2,800 consumers in the Town of Dudley. The aggregation report for the fourth quarter of 2025 shows those consumers saved a combined $153,314 compared to NGRID’s Basic Service rates. “With over $150,000 in savings in just one quarter, this program is delivering real results for Dudley residents,” Town Administrator Jonathan Ruda said. “The Board of Selectmen and I are pleased to offer an option that helps our community—especially seniors and families—manage rising and unpredictable energy costs.” The town’s first electricity aggregation program was developed by Town Administrator Jonathan Ruda to reduce energy costs for Dudley residents. Mr. Ruda worked with a municipal aggregation consultant, Colonial Power Group, Inc., and the state Department of Energy Resources to develop a public aggregation in compliance with state law. The plan represents Dudley residents in competitive markets to negotiate electricity rates. In doing so, it brings together the buying power of more than 11,900 consumers to reduce energy costs for residents. It further enables the town to take greater control of its energy options, including the ability to pursue price stability, savings opportunities and increased renewable energy procurement. The 18-month contract with First Point Power, which began in April 2025, offers three products with varying amounts of renewable energy content.
