Grafton Seeks Nominations for Outstanding Citizen Award

The Town of Grafton is now accepting nominations for its annual Outstanding Citizen Award, recognizing a resident whose leadership, service and selfless dedication have made a meaningful impact on the community.

The award honors an individual who, through personal involvement and volunteerism, has positively affected the town and its residents. Nominees may be recognized for a lifetime of service or for a specific act — or series of acts — performed within the past year that went above and beyond in service to Grafton.

Nominations will be accepted through March 31. Residents may submit nominations to the Town Administrator’s Office using the Outstanding Citizen Award Nomination Form available on the town’s website at grafton-ma.gov.

After the nomination period closes, a review committee will evaluate submissions and select the recipient. The committee will include one representative from the Select Board, one member of the School Committee, the Town Clerk, and the Town Administrator or their designee.

The Select Board will be notified of the committee’s decision, and a formal citation will be prepared. The award will be presented to the recipient at Grafton’s Annual Town Meeting in May.

Any Grafton resident may nominate another resident for the award. Nominees must reside in the Town of Grafton. Elected officials are not eligible. Town employees may be nominated only for volunteer activities performed outside the scope of their employment and on their own time.
