Thimble Pleasures Quilt Show Returns to Upton March 14–15

Colorful patterns, intricate stitching and community spirit will take center stage when the Thimble Pleasures Quilt Show returns Saturday, March 14, and Sunday, March 15, at Blackstone Valley Regional Technical High School.

The biennial show, themed “Creating Comfort,” will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days at the school, 65 Pleasant St., Upton. Admission is $10, and children 18 and under are admitted free. The venue offers ample parking and is handicapped accessible.

More than 200 quilts made by guild members will be on display, showcasing a wide range of styles, techniques and traditions. The exhibit will also feature themed challenge quilts, collaborative “Robin” quilts created by groups of members, and a special non-judged display highlighting the work of youth quilters.

In addition to the quilt displays, visitors can participate in a silent auction featuring quilts and handmade items crafted by guild members. Basket raffles will include quilting and sewing supplies as well as themed baskets for children and food lovers. A Quilters’ Boutique will offer quilts, patterns, books and quilting-related items for purchase.

A highlight of the weekend will be the raffle quilt, titled “Dresden Blooms.” Raffle tickets are $2 each or six for $10, with the drawing scheduled for Sunday, March 15, at the close of the show.

A variety of vendors will be on site offering fabric, patterns, notions and specialty goods, along with non-quilting items. A concession stand will serve pizza, sandwiches, salads, snacks and beverages throughout the weekend.

This year’s special fundraiser will benefit Home Base, a national nonprofit organization that supports veterans and their families coping with the invisible wounds of war. Guild members have created patriotic-themed handmade items for sale, with proceeds supporting the organization’s mission.

For quilting enthusiasts and newcomers alike, the Thimble Pleasures Quilt Show promises a weekend of creativity, craftsmanship and community connection.
