Officer Randy McCarthy has been named Servant Officer of the Week

The Auburn Police Department announces that Officer Randy McCarthy has been named Servant Officer of the Week by Dean Crisp’s Leaders Helping Leaders Network.

Since joining the School Resource Officer Unit in 2023, McCarthy has focused on building strong relationships with students at a K–2 elementary school, the middle school, and the ENCORE Program for developmentally delayed young adults. Known for greeting students with fist bumps and distributing his “Make Good Decisions” stickers, he even created an Auburn Police Department coloring book to foster positive connections with law enforcement.

In addition to mentoring students, McCarthy works closely with administrators to strengthen school safety plans. Recognized for his commitment to service and community trust, he continues to make a lasting impact in Auburn’s schools.
