Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Launches Annual Winter Coat Drive
With winter approaching, the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office and the Worcester County Reserve Deputy Sheriff’s Association got its 12th Annual Winter Coat Drive underway. This effort is aimed at providing 4,000 brand-new winter coats to residents in need throughout the county.
Locally, the drive kicked off on November 4 at the Webster Dudley Food Share, 4 Church Street, Webster. Sheriff Lew Evangelidis and members of his staff delivered thousands of coats directly to local service agencies and community members. The initiative helps ensure that vulnerable residents stay warm throughout the coldest months, while reinforcing the Sheriff’s Office’s commitment to community support.
This year’s drive has drawn strong backing from numerous local businesses and organizations.
“The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Winter Coat Drive aims to strengthen connections with law enforcement across different communities in Worcester County,” Sheriff Evangelidis said. “When we distribute these jackets, the recipients express tremendous gratitude. This is a special time of year for the Sheriff’s Department, and we are excited to connect with the community members we serve.”
