Open Sky’s 11th Annual Valley Bag Toss on Sept. 20
Open Sky Community Services is pleased to announce that it will host the 11th Annual Valley Bag Toss on Saturday, September 20at the historic Alternatives’ Whitin Mill in Whitinsville. This inclusive cornhole tournament serves as both a community celebration and an important fundraiser in support of Open Sky’s health and wellness programs, which benefit nearly 8,000 individuals throughout Central Massachusetts.
The Valley Bag Toss was established by former Board Member Molly Hollibaugh, whose vision was to create a welcoming, inclusive event that would bring together people of all abilities to enjoy the Whitin Mill plaza. Since its inception, the event has grown into a much-anticipated tradition that fosters community connection while raising vital support for Open Sky’s mission.
The tournament will take place from 12- 5 p.m. at 50 Douglas Road, Whitinsville and is open to participants of all abilities, age 14 and older. Pre-registration is required, as space is limited and the event is expected to sell out.
In addition to spirited cornhole competition, attendees will enjoy live musical entertainment provided by Smooth & Company, food for purchase from the Rock N Roll Food Truck, a cash bar, and a raffle featuring prizes valued at more than $500.
The cornhole boards used in the tournament are handcrafted by local artist, designer, and woodworker Nick Hollibaugh. Each set is uniquely designed and meticulously crafted, making them both functional and collectible. The winning team will receive a set of these distinctive boards, and additional prizes will be awarded to the first and second runners-up, as well as to teams recognized for Best Team Name, Best Team Spirit, and Best Team Costume.
Spectators are warmly welcomed to attend and enjoy the festivities while supporting a worthy cause.
