Run, Paddle and Bike Race in the Blackstone Valley

The Greenway Challenge, a multi-segment competition, is now in its 23rd year!  On September 28, a tri-state adventure race takes place in the stunning and historical Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor, showcasing one of New England’s most picturesque areas 2024 regions. 

 

This year’s course will showcase a course designed by past Greenway Challenge participants, designed for the racers themselves.
It’s your choice to go it alone or be accompanied by up to seven teammates. This unique challenge consists of street and trail running, street biking and mountain biking as well as paddling on river and lake. There is something new and exciting for everyone this year.
The mission of the UniBank Greenway Challenge is to promote the recreational quality of life in the Blackstone River Valley. A program of the Whitin Community Center, presented by UniBank, and supported by other partner organizations, the Greenway Challenge supports the development of new programs, purchase of additional equipment and facility renovations for the members and gusts of the Whitin Community Center (WCC). The WCC is a 501(c)(3) organization committed to enhancing the health and well-being of individual and families and to building a strong community in the Blackstone Valley.
The challenge will start at Whitin Community Center, wind its way through the Blackstone Valley and end at Wallum Lake in Douglas State Park. Teams can be made up of one to eight people with team members doing just one or two segments each or individuals can conquer all segments themselves.
This annual race is one of New England’s premier tri-state adventure races through Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island.
