Booklovers’ keeps the beat going with photography exhibit

Above, relationships, human and those involving the wildlife world, are the subject of a special photography exhibit in September at Booklovers’ Gourmet in Webster.

Recent media reports about the resurgence of the independent bookstore are not exaggerated, witness the flurry of activity surrounding business at Booklovers’ Gourmet, 72 E. Main St., Webster.
Fresh off a Scrabble tournament that had participants exchanging in the age-old banter as to whether a word in play is indeed a legitimate move comes news from Owner Deb Horan of a photography exhibit that will take place soon.
“Sisters Call & Respond—To Nature and To Each Other,” featuring the work of Christine M. Croteau and Elizabeth Crouteau-Kallestad, will be on display and for sale throughout the month of September.
Viewing hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
A public meet and greet with the artists is scheduled for Saturday, September 10th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Attendees will be eligible to win a set of photos through a raffle.
This exhibit was created to show how art can be used as a means of getting close, in human relationships and in relationships in the natural world. In a largely fragmented world, art and nature can be connectors and community builders.
Sisters, Ms. Croteau and Ms. Crouteau-Kallestad are both photographers and naturalists. They are coming together for this call-and-respond exhibit.
