St. Patrick’s Day celebration transforms Plummer Place into Emerald Isle

Leprechauns. Shamrocks. Rainbows. Lucky raffle baskets. Shenanigans.  These are just a few of the things local seniors said they enjoyed most about a St. Patrick’s celebration which was held this week at Plummer Place, home of the Northbridge Senior Center.

“As I was entering the dining area, folks were commenting with oohs and aahs at the beautifully decorated room,” said Carolyn Barrows, vice president of the Friends of Northbridge Elders’ Board of Directors.  “People were sharing with others and saying how wonderful it was to be able to get out and gather together once again.”  Irish music for the event was provided by the Blackstone Valley Strummers for all to listen to and enjoy. “The ukulele concert was a crowning touch to the event!” said Barrows.  Kelly Bol, director of Plummer Place added, “it was absolutely wonderful to see our dining room filled with so many folks having such a great time and enjoying each other’s company.”  A fun and festive time was had by all!
