Collect. Shred. Recycle. Repeat. Lions shred event
Lions and volunteers prepare material for shredding.
The semi-annual Uxbridge Lions Club shred event is planned for Saturday, May 8, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the VFW parking lot on Route 16 and Cross Road in Uxbridge. With Onsite Computers and Pellegrino Trucking Co., the Lions Club once again ensures secure paper shredding while you watch and certified guaranteed electronic destruction.
The Uxbridge Lions want to help you get rid of those documents you no longer need which are not securely stored and can pose a threat to your identity. Experts say just about everything with your name and address on it and other personal information should be shredded. The Pellegrino Trucking Co. will shred securely on site and the tons of paper resulting will be recycled. Donation of $5 per copy paper sized box will get it done.
Onsite Computers will accept any small electronic item except televisions and CRT monitors. No household appliances will be accepted. Dispose of devices such as phones, electrical cords, DVDs, cameras, USB cables, flat screen computer monitors, keyboards and radios and stereos. Onsite will provide a “Certificate of Guaranteed Destruction” for items with personal information. A $5 donation per item will benefit local programs supported by the Uxbridge Lions.
The procedure for driving up to the site will be clearly marked and a member of the Lions will assist with your materials to be shredded. Wear a mask, please.
The Uxbridge Lions has been active in the community for more than a decade supporting many local programs including scholarships, eye glass and hearing assistance, local youth sports, the Uxbridge Senior Center and Beautify Uxbridge.
The Uxbridge Lions meet every third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. Until further notice, meeting will be held via Zoom. Contact President Diane Seely, [email protected] New members are always welcome to join the largest service organization in the world whose motto is “We serve.”
